As previously said in my introduction, I am a professional barista.
I trained in Australia but fell in love with coffee in Japan actually!
When I travel it is very important for me to find the best coffeeshops,
since I love coffee and since I do not have access to my home or work equipement.
So before traveling somewhere, I always do some research and always come up with a list
of coffeeshops I need to visit during my stay.
Hence, this page will be dedicated to all the gems I could find around the world!
Klover Coffee Showroom is a coffeeshop located in the 11th arrondissement of PARIS. It was recommended to me by a barista in Tokyo. I think it was one of the best recommendation someone ever made for a parisian coffeeshop! The interior is quite minimalist yet very elegant. And the coffee? probably the best coffee cups you can be served in Paris!
Coffee Swamp is a little coffeeshop nested in a quiet neighbourhood between the Korea Town of Tokyo and the busy Shinjuku. It is operated most of the time by a single person even though it is very busy since it is quite popular among locals AND tourits. But if you are in the area I would really recommend it. I really like the simplicity of the place!
If you are a coffee aficionado, you may know the american coffee brand Blue Bottle. However do you know the Studio version? It is quite amazing. Blue Bottle Studio only operates twice a year: during Spring and during Fall. It is an Omakase style coffee course that will blow your mind! If you manage to book a seat, I assure you, you will be worth your money!
Glitch is one of the most popular brand of specialty coffee in Tokyo. If you go, be ready to queue to get in. But it was definitely worth the wait! the staff speaks English very well and the coffee experience is one of the best! They have a vast selection of coffee origins with a veriety of (delicious) rarities with all price ranges.
This one can be quite confusing to find! It is located at the end of a random parking lot! But you know what? It is still crowded! But the coffee is really good! And you know they make good coffee beacuse they do not accept to make you a filter in a paper take-away cup!
Be careful to not confuse KOFFEE MAMEYA and KOFFEE MAMEYA KAKERU! they are not the same! This one is an Omakase style which requires a reservation prior your coming. You will be able to choose your prefered menu once seated, but I will defintely recommend the pairing, it was really WOW!
It was my first time ever in Portugal when I visited this place. I didn't know much about the Portugese coffee scene. But what an incredible surprise this was. Lovely staff, great great coffee and very good recommandations! A must visit when in Lisbon guys!
When I was in Lisbon, the barista recommended me a bag of coffee from this roaster and I loved it! So since I was in Porto, I had to visit their little flagshop! and it was worth it, simple coffee but it tasted great. Simple but efficient!
If you are looking for a modern take of the specialty coffeeshop, this is the right place. I mean, look at this picture! It says everything! They roasted their coffee and the selection is HUGE! Well, I loved it!
